From Humble Beginnings to Empowering Latino Entrepreneurs for Over 25 Years

I was born in Tlaxcala, Mexico, where my parents taught me that everything in life must be earned through hard work. From a young age, I helped them in their maquila and garment business, learning to operate industrial sewing machines at just 10 years old.

By the time I was 14, I had already started my first business—a screen-printing shop where I designed and printed t-shirts for local basketball, baseball, and soccer leagues. That’s where my passion for advertising and design was born.

At the same time, I was actively involved in sports, representing my school and even playing for the youth state basketball team of Tlaxcala. Life was full of opportunities, and I felt I was on the right path.

Everything changed in an instant when my family was forced to immigrate to the United States due to my mother’s urgent medical needs. Her health was at risk, and moving was our only option.

Leaving my business, my basketball team, my studies, and my friends behind was one of the most difficult moments of my life. We arrived in a new country where I didn’t speak the language, didn’t know anyone, and had to start over from scratch.

But I refused to give up.

I pushed myself to learn English, finish high school, and start working—even though my immigration status meant I couldn’t access college scholarships or financial aid. I took jobs in fast food and warehouses, but deep inside, I knew I wanted more.

Determined to create a better future, I convinced my wife to support me in continuing my education. I went back to school to study Marketing, Graphic Design, and Web Design, earning certifications—including one as a Microsoft Computer Technician.

Even though I worked for major companies like Verizon and Wells Fargo Bank, my desire to run my own business never faded.

That’s when I launched my first major project:

🌟 Mirada Latina – A Business Directory for Our Community

I created Mirada Latina, a website and magazine dedicated to connecting Latino businesses with the community. This opened doors I never imagined—collaborating with Portland Trail Blazers, Univision, Telemundo, TV Azteca, and even participating in events like the FIFA World Cup, Latin Grammys, and Premio Lo Nuestro.

I later launched MX Media, my first full-service advertising agency, helping small Latino businesses with radio ads, promotional products, and even TV commercials. I was always thinking of new ways to innovate, always with one goal in mind:

We developed:

📖 The first Latino digital magazine – Mirada Latina

I was on a mission to bring visibility, marketing, and success to Latino entrepreneurs.

Life took another unexpected turn when my father needed open-heart surgery. Without hesitation, we moved closer to my parents to support them.

This meant leaving behind the Latino business network I had built, but instead of seeing it as an obstacle, I saw it as an opportunity to grow.

I noticed a new challenge:

🤝 Many American businesses want to connect with the Latino community but don’t know how.

That’s when I decided to rebrand MX Media into Growth Ally Agency—a name that reflects our mission:

✔ Building bridges between two worlds to create bigger opportunities for everyone.
